Les Misrables at Lyric Stage Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
When is Les Misrables playing at Lyric Stage Boston?
Les Misrables is scheduled at Lyric Stage Boston in Boston, Massachusetts, from April 30 through June 20, 2027. Check the event listing for the performance date and time you want, as schedules may vary throughout the run.
What kind of show is Les Misrables?
Les Misrables is a landmark musical based on Victor Hugo's novel, with music by Claude-Michel Schnberg and lyrics by Alain Boublil. Its story follows Jean Valjean's search for redemption amid poverty, political upheaval, love, and sacrifice in 19th-century France. The score features well-known songs including ?I Dreamed a Dream,? ?On My Own,? ?Bring Him Home,? and ?Do You Hear the People Sing??
How long is Les Misrables?
The musical runs approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes, including one intermission of about 20 minutes. Allow extra time for arrival, security or venue entry procedures, and getting to your seat. Confirm the start time on your ticket before travelling.
What is the seating like at Lyric Stage Boston?
Lyric Stage Boston is an intimate theatre, so seats are generally closer to the stage than in a large touring venue. For a balanced view of the performers and the production's staging, consider seats near the centre of the auditorium. Side seats can offer a different angle, and the best choice depends on availability, budget, and personal preference. Review the seating map and the specific ticket details before purchasing.
Where is the best place to sit for Les Misrables?
Central seats with a clear, direct view are a strong choice for taking in the ensemble, stage movement, and visual storytelling. If you prefer to see more of the stage picture at once, consider a seat farther back rather than choosing the very front row. Because sightlines vary by seat, consult the venue seating map when selecting tickets.
Are any seats less suitable?
Seats at the far sides may provide a more angled view, while seats closest to the stage can make it harder to take in the full production at a glance. No seat can be described as universally unsuitable; check the seating map and any view notes shown with the listing before you buy.
How much do Les Misrables tickets cost?
Prices currently start around $75, with many tickets expected to fall in the approximate $75?$250 range. Prices can vary by performance date, seat location, availability, and market demand, and may change over time. Check the listing for current prices and applicable fees before completing your purchase.
How can I get to Lyric Stage Boston by public transportation?
Boston's MBTA subway and bus network can be convenient for reaching central Boston. Routes and travel times depend on your starting point, so check the MBTA's current service information and plan your trip to the venue in advance. Allow extra time for evening or weekend service changes.
Where can I park for Lyric Stage Boston?
Parking availability and rates in Boston can change, and spaces near the theatre may be limited on performance nights. Consider checking nearby garages and reserving a space ahead of time where possible. Confirm the location, hours, price, and walking route directly with the parking provider before travelling.
What should I know about bags and entry?
Bag restrictions and entry procedures are set by the venue and may change. Check Lyric Stage Boston's current policies before attending, and bring only what you need to help make entry smoother. Arriving early gives you time to locate your entrance and settle in before the performance begins.
Is Les Misrables suitable for children?
The production is recommended for ages 8 and up and includes scenes of conflict and mature themes. A parent or guardian should consider the child's age and sensitivity before booking. Check the venue's current age and admission policies for the performance you plan to attend.
Will there be an opening act?
Les Misrables is a full-length musical presented in two acts, rather than a concert with a separate opening act. The performance includes approximately 30 musical numbers and one intermission.
